Solid silver keys add a feel of professionalism to the instrument and have the advantage that there is no plating that could wear making for cheaper overhauls. The thinned standard head gives you maximum flexibility in sound and allows for excellent overall control and extremely soft playing of even the highest notes with even better response in delicate situations. The split E is particularly useful on the piccolo because it gives you complete confidence to play the top E as softly as you like. The g# mechanism helps the response of both top g# and top c and makes the them better in tune.
