Product Information
This is Sankyo's most popular design, featuring a slightly higher chimney and a touch of cut on the sides of the embouchure hole which helps to avoid wasting air to the sides and improves the sound making it stronger and darker, even more so with the 18ct gold Riser. The riser, also known as chimney, has the predominant influence on the sound quality and response of the flute and for this reason the special characteristics of the material used for the edge on which the air column splits and actually produces the sound have a far greater effect then further down along the tube.
